Rainbow Day!

Today we had the first part of our action - Rainbow Day. The whole school wore their favourite colours and brought a gold coin donation.

The Preps are so proud of our school community who were very generous with their donations and we raised $255.60!

Together Prep D and Prep K counted the gold coins - a quick way was to group the dollar coins in groups of 10 - to make $10.00 and the two dollar coins in groups of 5 to make $10.00. Then we counted  by tens to $255.60 (Maths in real life!)

Wow!
Now we move onto the next stage of our action. We need to buy the materials to make some nesting boxes, prepare the materials and put the nesting boxes together.

We hope our family and friends will be able to support us in this next stage!

  1. Congratulations preps! Today was such a great day. I love dressing up in all the colours of the rainbow and it was amazing to see the the bright happy faces on all the colorful students at school today. What a great effort to raise so much money for your possum boxes. I love that you did such wonderful maths work, counting and sorting all the money. Good luck with the rest of your action.
