Read Across the Universe! It's Book Week!

We have had a wonderful week of celebrations for Book Week. We had a dress up day on Wednesday and everyone dressed up in the space theme. The Preps and their buddies shared books and had a fabulous time. We love reading books in Prep!

We had fun on our dressing up day and we had a really fun time at the parade. Alexa

We made suitcases and we had to draw things that we would take to space. We showed our suitcases to our buddies. Chantelle

We read 'Too Many Elephants in This House' and made elephants out of paper bags. Joshua

We  brought our favourite books to school and we shared our books. Declan

What Am I?

We have been writing What Am I?'s in Literacy. With our partner we thought of an animal and wrote the clues. We learnt that it is important not to make the first clue too easy! After we had written our What Am I?'s we practised reading clearly and fluently and recorded our clues on audioboo. Can you guess the animals?

Today we have:

Frances
Stephanie (Frances and Stephanie wrote theirs together but missed recording together)
Sophie and Rosie
Alexa and Riley

Do you have a 'What Am I?' to share with us?

Toy Stories!

We had a fabulous incursion on Tuesday. We learnt all about toys! The Preps and the Juniors worked together in mixed groups to explore toys from throughout the ages. We discovered that Mrs Fitt is the 'jacks' champion of St. Luke's. We learnt lots of interesting information about the history of toys and we were able to play many games that our parents and grandparents would have played when they were children.
Thanks to Cynda and Barry from the History Box for an action packed and engaging session.

The Story of Noah's Ark

In Religion we are reading stories from the Old Testament in the Bible. We have enjoyed learning about Noah's Ark. At computer time we worked with a partner to create our own impressions of Noah's Ark. We used Tux Paint to make our pictures.

What is your favourite story from the Old Testament?
