Our Prep mascot

Wattle the wombat.
Wattle and her twin brother Wally.
Introducing our new Prep K mascot Wattle the wombat. Wattle has a twin brother Wally who is PrepS's mascot.
We hope Wattle and Wally don't eat our Hairy Harry's over the weekend!
Stay tuned for more adventures from our wombat twins.

  1. Your wombats are so cute. Are wombats real animals in Australia? What do they eat?

  2. I like Wattle, she looks so cute and cuddly. What does "twin brother" mean?

  4. I am VERY excited for you that you have a mascot who is a twin! Wattle & Wally look very cuddly... Are they fraternal or identical?

  5. I saw a Wombat today at Kyabram Fauna Park (http://www.kyabramfaunapark.com.au/). It was hiding in a deep hole. Did you know that Wombats have pouches that face backwards. Why do you think they face backwards? Do you think it might have something to do with digging holes? Rachel (Bright Ideas).

  6. Woof, Woof Wattle and Wally,
My name is Ruckus the Reading dog and I am K/1D's class mascot. I live in my kennel under the bookshelf in K/1D's classroom and my favourite thing to do is read! I have been very busy lately visiting the children at home and playing with them. I would like it very much if we could be friends too? I have 3 class mascot friends already - Leo the Lion, Quicksilver the Kea and Bo Bear but I have never had twin wombats for friends!
    Bow, wow for now,
    Ruckus the reading dog

  7. Hello Rachel,
Thank you for your comment. We think that wombats have their pouches facing backwards so that all the dirt doesn't fly in when they are digging. We know that wombats love to dig.

Thank you for your great questions - we have learned something new!
    From Prep K
